Upright, branching perennial with tall spikes of deep pink flowers from June to September. Full sun.

Sow on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed
compost. Cover seed very lightly with compost or vermiculite, as they need some light to germinate. Keep moist, and at a temperature of between 15-20°C (59-68°F). Germination takes between 21 and 30
days. When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays.
Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk
of frost 30cm (12in) apart.
