Annual poppy with large 4-5" wide, double pompom-like lilac flowers that are long-lasting. The attractive dried pods are very useful in flower arranging. Will self-seed.
Height: 60-90cm (2-3').
Sow outdoors from spring to early summer or in the autumn for flowering the next season. Prepare the ground well by raking to a fine tilth and sow 1.5mm (1/16in) deep in rows 30cm (12in) apart.
Thin out the young plants to 30cm (12in) apart when the seedlings are large enough to handle. They prefer a sunny site in ordinary well drained soil but will flourish in most sites and soils.
