Clump-forming perennial with dense spikes of white flowes from August to September. The attractive, bottlebrush flowers open from the top downwards.
It makes an excellent cut flower and is loved by bees and butterflies.
Plant in full sun. Height: 90cm (3ft).
Sow in trays of moist seed compost and keep at 70-75F (20-25C). Cover
finely with vermiculite or grit. Seeds should germinate in 21-35 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3in) pots. Acclimatise young plants to outdoor conditions before
planting out 30cm (12in) apart, in full sun.
Best sown in the Spring.
